First ever Virtual Senior Games to take place in Swindon

From Thursday 8th October 2020 - Sunday 11th October, 6 care homes from Swindon will battle it out to become Swindon's first ever Virtual Senior Games champions. The games, being supported and run by Swindon Sports Forum and Swindon Borough Council will be the first of its kind to take place in the town.

The activities for the games include: Target Mat throwing, Foam Javelin, Golf Putting and Tin Can Alley. The activities have been chosen as they will be fully inclusive to all and will provide lots of fun for everyone involved. Equipment will supplied to each care home with the activities taking place in the homes.

Medals will be awarded to the winning teams of each event and the team which acquires the most points over the 4 activities will take him the first ever winners trophy.

It is hoped that a successful games virtually in 2020 will pave the way for an in person event in 2021 so that more older people can enjoy the benefits that the games will bring.
